A key concern for tenants as they grow older is their ability to remain independent. The project explores technologies that will mitigate the impact of a variety of disabilities. These solutions will allow elderly and disabled tenants to have greater levels of autonomy.

Ageing communities
The population of Europe is increasingly becoming older. The I-stay@Home project seeks to intro- duce tenants to ICT solutions that could help improve their quality of life both within the homes and neighbour-hoods.

Support network
A large proportion of elderly and disabled tenants indicated that they feel increasingly isolated as they become older and more frail or disabled. The project seeks to reduce isolation by helping tenants to stay in touch with friends and family, and frontline support staff through social networking. They are also being introduced to ICT solutions that would allow their support network to monitor their overall well-being remotely.
