Business scenarios

With the tenants’ needs in mind, they were provided with ICT solutions that would help them maintain their independence and assist their friends and families in fulfilling their support roles.

Basically, tenants were very satisfied with the I-stay@home technology and for some of them it meant a real improvement in their lives.
Social housing organisations decides to participate in the I-stay@home project to provide new services to elderly and disabled tenants that would improve their comfort and would give them the opportunity to stay in their own homes.

Most housing organisations found the project very encouraging, motivating them to work on a concept for the future which will include assistive technology for elderly or disabled people.

As the sections about tenants’ and housing organisations’ experiences are based on informal interviews, the scientific evaluation is useful for substantiating these findings through quantitative means.

The summary concentrates on defining a potential target group for whom I-stay@home technology would be particularly beneficial, exploring the willingness of people to pay for this kind of support, and defining housing organisations’ influence on the satisfaction of tenants.

We combined tenants’ needs with housing organizations’ expectations and their willingness for involvement as basis for business scenarios and differentiated seven scenarios depending on these factors.

These business scenarios can show future service providers potential business possibilities in terms of supporting elderly people with ICT products.
